SPIRITUAL WARFARE SERMON SERIES

In the final sermon of the present series the subject that was submitted and chosen is on the Armor of God. This was submitted by Petra. I worked Sunday since I knew I would be off Monday and some of Tuesday. While seeking how to approach this sermon, God showed me that this was a subject that needed to be dealt with deeply and thoroughly. As a result and following God, as I understood Him... I will be using this seventh sermon to launch a seven sermon series on Spiritual warfare. Don't you like the number 7? The biblical number for complete.

The part of the passage God used to show this was the first few verses...

Ephesians 6:10-13 -(NKJV)

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
WOW - I love what the above verses have to say. In the series we will be treasure hunting through verse 20. Look at these first 4 verses. It would be a tragedy to cover this much needed to be discovered topic and not deal with the foundation to understand them completely. There is so much meat in the verses above, I will speak focused on the truths they give us.
Thank you Petra and Thank You Jesus for bringing us to this set of verses at a time such as this. Commit to pray for this sermon series and I encourage you to schedule your Friday's so you do not miss any of these sermons.

A SUGGESTION... Though we do put a place for sermon notes in the bulletin, you night find it

helpful if you bring a notebook which you can dedicate to the things you learn from this series. A notebook you can refer to again and again. Spiritual warfare is a daily occurrence in all of our lives and we need to know how to recognize t and how to face to head on.

I was taught many years ago that when you speak of the devil and his cohorts, they show up because they love being talked about. Good or bad, they love to hear themselves spoken of. What we need to know when understanding this truth is that the demons of this world are never by themselves when they attack, the heavenly warriors (much superior) are ready to fight and protect what belongs to God. The question we must face is... Are we relying on the things of heaven or the things of this fallen earth?

A CHALLENGE... Think of all your friends (believers or unbelievers), invite them to join you in our church fellowship this Friday. In this sermon there will be a clear presentation on the superiority of Jesus over struggles / Spiritual battles. There will be a challenge for all believers to live victoriously and for all non-believers to discover victory.

Be on time for Friday School and for Worship.
