Holy Week Day 2

On Monday of Holy Week, Jesus steps into the temple which God had called His people to build for a specific purpose. That purpose was not being accomplished but the corruption of humanity was on display. What was supposed to be a house of prayer had become a den of thieves.
Matthew 21:12-13 - Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’"
Let's stop and apply this moment to our personal lives.  The lesson for us is that we need to know that we are the temple of God. We are where God resides on this planet. We are the sanctuary. We are to be a house of prayer. We are to be givers - not takers or keepers. We are to live our lives expressing through our words and behavior that God sits on the throne of our person.

Jesus has every right to step in and remove what is not holy. I encourage you to take a deep look into your lives, seek God for clarity and remove anything that doesn't belong before Jesus chooses to do it Himself. Preempting the judgment of Jesus in such cases is to our benefit. Take time this Holy Week to consider all of what Jesus did so we could be saved but also what he taught us by His actions throughout the whole week.

Jesus' lesson for Holy Monday - Make sure your temple is God approved and fit for Him.

APRIL 2, 2018

Your church staff will not be in the office on Monday, April 2.

I am so proud of the work the church staff has done during this shifting and the extra hours they have put in, I am giving them Easter Monday off to enjoy some time of relaxation and fun with their families.

When you get a chance, let Pastor Matt and Sheeba know how much you love them and are glad they are here serving the Lord at EBCI.

Please join us in person or in prayer (if you are not in Dubai) for our annual SonRise service. We will be at Palace Beach. The map to the left is helpful. Other churches will be at the beach also so when you drive into the area, go straight toward the water, then turn right as you get close to the water. We will be down that way, towards the end of the open beach.

Bring some food and a friend. We will have music, message, baptisms and a meal. Pastor Yesu and his church will be joining us again. This is a great way to start your Easter Sunday. See you there. We will provide bus transportation Sunday morning. The bus will leave the villa at 5 am.

We are praying for you.

Pastor Jon
