TUESDAY'S TALKS

-----

A WONDERFUL SATURDAY

Of the many great things that happened this past Saturday, Being a part of the "Child Dedication/Parent Commitment" for Noah Skyler was a personal blessing. Noah brought his parents to the church Saturday to show them off. He loves his mom and dad... as his mom and dad love him. Making such a commitment before your church is important in your life and Noah's.

Thank you church for your participation also as you committed to being the church they needed as scripture teaches.

I am convinced times like these, and we have had many, are not only necessary in the life of a church family but are required as we thank God and praise Him for the blessing of the children in our lives.

We are a better church because of our commitment to moments like this. As we do these things to bring attention to, honor and glory to... God.

REALLY?

Sometimes people do the weirdest of things. Including me. Though I believe this one tops anything weird I have ever done. As reported by Fox News, Dave Alexander purchased a McDonald's cheeseburger and fries on July 7, 2012 as an experiment. So for the last six years, this meal sat untouched on a speaker cabinet in his office. The food items are not edible and somewhat petrified (hardened, not scared), unmolded but still appealing to the eyes... even the bun.

What petrifies (scared, not hardened) me the most is thinking about how many of these cheeseburgers I have consumed over the years. They even up the dosage by putting two of these cheeseburgers in their meal plan. Now, I wonder how I am even alive.

It is said that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger... WOW, I must be extremely strong.

Such food is intended to be eaten the day it was purchased. Not doing so spoils the food and over a longer period of time (like in the case of the cheeseburger and fries), it becomes hardened and not profitable.

Spiritual Lesson... The same can be said of the heart of God's children. When it is followed by the desires we have to fulfill the purposes we design and not the ones God has for us... over time the heart becomes hardened and not profitable. Think back to this past weeks message. Jeremiah 13:1-11.

GP RESUMES SATURDAY @ 9 am

First, let me thank you for working with us last Saturday as we canceled the Gospel Project for one week. Preetham is back in town and he will be leading this coming week's lesson.

Many of our GP attendees are on holiday or in flight home from the Mission Trip so if you have not yet made yourself a part of this Bible Study, please come early and meet on the ground floor as we open God's written Word and dig into it. We have some faithful men who lead these lessons.

Are there other men in the church who would like to be considered to teach the GP for the upcoming new quarter? If you are a member and would like to teach a weekend or two, let me know. If you are not a member and would like to teach a weekend or two, talk to me and I will share with you how you can become a member and leader at EBCI. EBCI needs you.
